Slavedave,

I'm just guessing but I bet the inspector would senll you patented sensors for about 39.95 a piece but until you get the firmware behind them your going to be way better off just getting the real McCoy. It'll do things for years to come that you can only want!

I still have my external battery box, I don't use it anymore, but I have it on the ready just in case.  I am assuming that if the internal battery goes out, the external battery box will power the Zen up and power the internal wireless MIDI, would that be a correct statement Inspector?

You know, I'm actually not sure about that.
Try it and tell me. I know it will power the Zendrum just fine.

Ok, this morning I took out the internal battery, plugged in my external battery box with a short MIDI cable going to the MIDI out on the ZX.  Turned on the switch on both the ZX and the battery box, and to no suprise I got power.  Started playing my ZX with the wireless RX hooked up to my sound module and I got DRUMS!!!  So the battery box will power both the Zendrum and the internal wireless system.

COOL Man,

Sorry to all on my misleading post.  I could swear I heard that that wouldn't fit... I hate being wrong.  Ask my wife.

Hey Jer,
Probably when you asked was before I proved it could be done.
It's a tight fit, though.
Building a Zebrawood LT with wireless/battery and two cc knobs this week.

Go tell your wife that you're sorry beforehand.
Early and often is best, my friend.

Avast Thar Mateys,

The news about the external battery box be very exciting indeed.

Regarding Zendrumdude being right aqnd apologizing to his wife, there be a quote from Robert Heinlein.  "In any argument with the opposite sex, where you kno0w with absolute certainty that you are in the right, apologize at once."  Although me First Mate understands that Aye always be right (And usually with the forsight to be able to prove it), she has still made it her quest to prove otherwise.

So what is the actual power requirement for the Zendrum? The web site says, 12VDC, but the merge bricks use a 9 volt battery. And what is the current draw? Many thanks.
