Electronic percussion patches?
« on: September 02, 2009, 08:43:42 am »

Hey guys, I've been called to come in as a percussion player tomorrow evening with 3 house djs on the zendrum. Do any of you have ideas on some cool soundfonts or something I could use? I don't plan on playing many straight beats, since I don't want to steal the track, ambient and background sounds will do, thanks!

If you are a MAc person and have a laptop Macbook or Powerbook...try some things out of Garageband.

Sadly I am a pc user... But I think I'll borrow a mac for tomorrow and see what I can get out of gb, thanks for the tip. I only have regular kits on my pc, never thought I would be out playing electronic stuff really.

Because no one will ever take you seriously as a musician.  ;)

I would get more respect using my cheap Chinese made Macbook, than a better musician with top of the line ADK PC notebook.

pcs have some software options not available outside of a 'bootcamp' environment, thats good. if you can manage in a windows OS environment then you have options.

no worries

Sadly because I don't have garageband on the pc. I wouldn't get a mac anyway, I'm more than capable of setting up a pc rig which will not fail on me (even if I always have a backup ready) :p. A friend of mine brought me battery 3 instead and I have been able to use stuff from there, then the skin percussion patch from reason 4. It all went well luckily! Pics when I'll get them.
