Songs featuring the Zendrum
« on: January 09, 2009, 04:57:08 PM »

Well, my band 4given, an all original contemporary Christian band finally called it a day after 8 years together and 6 CDs with 1000's sold and distributed.  We placed all 85 of our songs free for downloading at http://www.musicv2.com/artist/4given

Over the years I have had several members request copies of the songs I recorded using my Zendrum ZX.  So I have provided links to each of the 9 songs recorded with the Zendrum below.  All songs were recorded in a professional studio using my Zendrum ZX and a Roland TD-10exp sound module, drummer's perspective and in stereo.  I'm not trying to toot my horn, but instead making available examples of what the Zendrum can do.  Some tracks I would redo if we had the time/resources; but overall I think they are pretty good and I'm proud to have been a part of this project.  Enjoy and be kind in the comments.

I have moved on to another band project that includes secular and Christian music, and I am using the Zendrum exclusively.  Once profits start coming in, I plan on getting a new custom Zendrum this summer to help 'bail-out' the Inspector!  ;D

The Peace I’m In - Revin’ Up My Soul

Good stuff man.

Musically I really liked Been Searching and Got a Joy.  Zendrumically (I think I just made up that word) Free Ride caught my ear.

Was most of this recorded live or lots o dubbing?

Great job all around, I'm always up for new music !

Thanks for the kudos.  We were always well prepared for the studio.  We would do one scratch track, critic it and then usually do the instrument recording live in one take.  Final vocals were added later.  Some guitar solos, overlays were added later also.  Drums were mostly one take, especially with the Zendrum.

So true, the website folded a year or so ago.  At least I still have them hear at home.

Would it be possible to upload them again, at least a couple? Myspace maybe? I'm really curious, some of those song titles sound interesting especially since I'm quite a fan of christian contemporary music. Also, if you dont mind me asking, what are your musical plans for the future? Cheers,
Tyler

What's 'myspace'??   ;D  email me directly Tyler with an address and I'll be happy to burn you a CD of the songs.  The 8 years I spent with the Christian band was some of the most rewarding musical work I ever accomplished.  landin82@frontier.com

In regards to my current musical plans, I am in a happy place right now.  Last year I scored a sweet Sonor 6 piece studio maple acoustic set and used that along with my Zendrum at a weekly jam session.  Then early this year I hooked up with some like minded musicians and I am now in a great fun band playing classic/southern rock, blues and new country a couple times a month.  I use the Zendrum on 20% of our set list and the crowd just loves it.  Here's the link to my band Hindsight:  http://www.facebook.com/HindsightBand?ref=ts&v=wall  WARNING:  There are a lot of hot chicks in the photo sections!!  We have a gig tonight which promises to be a lot of fun!!
