I don't have a Zendrum, but... / Preparing for new arrival
« on: October 27, 2010, 08:29:52 PM »
I've read all the threads from would-be owners and now that I'm in that club, it's starting to take on a new urgency. (My ZX ships next week!)
My opening question is simple. Is there a "popular" configuration for the ZX? Rather than re-invent the wheel, I  think it makes sense to start with some kind of tried-and-tested layout and learn that. Obviously, if there are pad allocations that don't work for the individual, they can change them. But since the instrument has been around for a while, surely there's some consensus on an optimal layout, just like most acoustic kits are laid out in a predictable fashion - albeit tweaked to individual needs and tastes.
And apologies in advance if this question in naive. Please go easy on me...

ZenChat / International e-drumming virtual collaboration
« on: July 09, 2010, 04:39:25 PM »
A bunch of us around the world are collaborating in an online edrumming video with short performances from each player to a click track and perhaps bass riff. There are lots of kit drummers already onboard. but I'd like to see some e-percussionists.
Any Zendrummers would be welcomed and you can read all about the project  here: http://vdrums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=61814.
Anyone wanting to get involved (bear i mind this is an amateur, for-fun venture), either hop onto that forum and post your interest or contact me at digitalDrummer.
Lookig forward to a flood of talent....

Allan

ZenChat / digitalDrummer July is live
« on: June 25, 2010, 08:26:05 PM »

Unfortuantely, no Zendrums this time - but we've got one in the wings for the October/November edition - I promise.
This month .... our profiled artist, Oli Rubow, might not be a household name, but he certainly knows how to use electronic drums and effects to augment acoustics in performances.
And speaking of performances, we look at the world’s most successful circus enterprise, Cirque du Soleil, and how its musicians use e-drums to create atmosphere.
Our July edition features more stories, more topics and more contributors as digitalDrummer continues to expand and we hope you find it interesting, educational and hopefully inspirational.
If you have previously registered for the free magazine, you should be able to access the latest edition here: www.digitaldrummermag.com.
The magazine site is rich in content, providing access not only to the current edition, but also to previous copies.
And as always, I welcome any feedback and suggestions.
