White Noise / Re: What do you call yourself?

I have many names...The greatness, the pocket master, the guy that plays that weird thing that sounds like drums, but mainly I am called "the drummer" by 90% of the bands I sit in with.  If I play congas with my kit sounds then I would say drums/percussionist.  I guess it would be dependent on the situations you are playing for.

Customer service is great!!  I went down last year to get my ZX upgraded to the Z4, I picked up a ZX that was purchased for the Air Force just to have David check it out, he did just that, found a few loose pieces, even took my Z3 board out of the my ZX and put it into the Air Force ZX, all this at no charge.  David stands by his product for sure and I agree with you Jaay, my patronage is for life as well.  Thanks for all you do David.

Thanks for all the hard work.  I have a few people coming over this week that want to buy a Zendrum and being able to show them this program and that it now comes with the purchase of a new Zendrum may be that one piece of the puzzle that will make them jump off the fence and get one.  I just loaded the newest version on my MacBook Pro and it seems to work flawlessly.  Thanks again for the hard work to everyone that had a hand in this.

I am still planning on being there, probably stay at the Mayor's place while in town, but none the less, we will have a great time swapping ideas and stories on how to play a better Zendrum.

ZenEdit / Problem with Zenedit 2
« on: March 02, 2012, 03:51:46 pm »
Not sure if these bugs have been addressed yet, I am using a MacBook Pro, when I first install ZE2, everything seems to work fine, the MIDI chase feature, and so on, as soon as I make some tweaks, export the MIDI directly to my ZX, it does it one time but says there were errors.  From that point it won't show the chase animations, and it will not export or import to or from my ZX.  I end up having to use SYSEX Librarian again.  If I uninstall and reinstall the software, it works again one time and then has errors again.  Just wanted to throw that out there.

ZenChat / Re: Need a foot trigger (mod?) for Patch changing
« on: February 27, 2012, 09:03:15 am »
Not sure what patches you are changing, but look into the Roland FC-300 MIDI Foot Controller.  It has the ability to send patch changes (I have never used that feature though), I use it to send CC commands to my software.  I was using it with a TD-6V to change kits and it worked great.  It also has 2 expression pedals that can be used for volume, pitch bend, or whatever you want.  Hope this gives you another option.

I will post the new pics when I get it.  It is a Zebrawood maxed out on triggers.  Less than two weeks and it will be in my hand rocking out.  I like the Zenedit 2, I have not used it so much on my current ZX, but am going to dig into it when I get my new baby for sure.

On the first version of Zenedit, when we selected additional triggers, it gave me 6, with the new zenedit, I am only getting 5, of course it shows the two jack inputs on the tail, the sustain switch, and another pentagon looking pad as well, is that the 6th trigger?  Just wondering....I am going down to Atlanta to pick up a new ZX that has all 30 available triggers and was wondering why there isn't a 6th trigger with a circle.....?

I have found myself traveling back and forth to Nashville more this year than ever, even for just a night or two.  I will clear my calendar for those dates and we can make it happen.

Tomorrow morning I will be heading out to Nashville to pay my respects to The Mayor and see my friend one last time, I am sure he will still be smiling.  I know he will never be forgotten by those he met either in person, phone or email.  He was a great person and can only hope that I could become as good as a person as he was.

Tom has introduced so many things to me that are possible with the Zendrum.  I will always be greatful to him for that.  He drove up to St. Louis a few years ago and that is when I met him for the first time.  He came by my house and introduced me to so many more possibilities of electronic drumming that it just blew my mind.  It was Tom that gave me the name of Pocket Master. We just became good friends and any time he was in town or I was passing through Nashville, we would get together and rock out on our Zendrums, and I felt honored when he started asking me how to do some of the things that I was doing on my ZX.  It is indeed a sad day in my home today, he will be missed.

Good news about Tom, he went to see the doctor and the doc seems to think that Tom's condition is improving, that is GREAT news.  Things seem to be looking up.

Tech Help / Re: MIDIJet Wireless MIDI lag time
« on: November 25, 2011, 12:55:33 pm »
Thumper,

Shark is using the MOTU 5 by 5 I believe for connecting all of his gear.  I go back and forth between the M-Audio Midisport 4 x 4 and the UNO Midi to USB cable.  It depends on how many items I am hooking up.  If it is just my foot pedal and my Zendrum, then I will most likely use the UNO, one on each piece of gear.  If my Macbook is going to be off stage, then the UNO is not long enough for me to run from the foot pedal to the mac, so I switch from the UNO to the Midisport so I cun run a long MIDI cable from the pedal to the mac, I usually run wireless on my Zendrum so the UNO will work for that or I can plug the wireless into the Mdisport as well.  There are so many ways to hook it up that it just comes down to what works for you.
