ZenChat / Re: BFD Sig Snares Vol. 2
« on: March 13, 2010, 07:33:47 pm »
Hi Mr Emrich, how are you doing? bfd sig snares vol 2 sounds excellent!!! i do have some questions.  what was the black bass and toms drum kit  did you play with the snares and do you know which bfd2 expansion pack there on. the bass was great. are there any mixer presets that come with the snares in vol 2. and.  is there plans in the futrue for positional sensing with the zendrum where you can play a side stick and hit or buzz on 1 trigger?

thanks john keep up the great work.

ok, let me make myself clearer.  can you trigger 2 sounds per drum trigger not by velocity but by where you hit the trigger.  for example if you hit the center you get a snare hit and if you hit the edge of the same trigger you get a rim shot hit?

hi, in the bfd2 manual page 144 it talks about variable snare controls with positional sensing with the half-edge snare articulation. can the zendrum triggers do this?

wow, thanks zendrum dude after a little tweeking it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i really like it for snare drum and ride cymbal but hh is cool also.  keep those tips and tricks comin .zendrum playing feels more and more  realistic.  all thats missing is the rebound from the stick.  hey....do you know how to do that???????  just kidding.  (maybe).

thanks again jer for your time and patience.  thats what cool about this forum and owning a zendrum, everybody is so darn helpful.

hey zendrumdude i don't get it.  in your tips-n-tricks aritcle on velocity cross fades with bfd2 you said  "I have the lowest 3 notes in the crossfade set to the HH tip sound, and the highest number set to the edge" what lowest 3 notes and what highest number? in the zendrum manual page 16 advanced programming/velocity crossfades, talks about hihat midi note numbers 41-44.  now if i set on my highhat  drum trigger pad midi note number 41 then look in bfd2 midi note section and see which piano note turns the light blue color then drag and drop the highhat and select closed hihat option.   then change the trigger pad to  midi note 42  then see which piano note turns light blue and drag and drop the highhat and select 1/4 closed option, and repeat the process until i get to note 44? because i did and it did not work.  what i don't understand is what you said about the lowest 3 notes and the highest number set to the edge.  sorry for the confusion on my part zendrumdude.  any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mr Emrich, the mca drums sound great. two questions though.  was there  processing (eq,compression) on the demos or is that sound right out the box and how does the stick rim shots on the toms work with the zendrum.  do  you have to use a seperate trigger?

thanks

Hey duojet, on an older post you mentioned you use a laptop computer with bfd2, which computer manufacturer do you use (dell, xpc) and how did you put in a second harddrive? I want to get a pc laptop to run bfd2 with full processing (eq,compression) and want to get one that can work without latency and freezing up and all the other bad stuff i have read in the past.

thanks
