Tech Help / Re: Using a host
« on: April 08, 2011, 06:58:56 AM »
Instead of using your foot pedal is it possible to use the Zendrums arrows to move to different drumsets? I know I got that to work in BDF2 before but I do not remember How. Thumper

Tech Help / Using a host
« on: April 06, 2011, 07:54:57 PM »
I know that several of you use Ableton as a host for the software. My question is I already own DP6 Digital Performer for Mac, can I use it as my host? What would be better to use Ableton,Garage band Motu Digital Performer or even something else that I am not thinking of. What are the advantages and disadvantages
Thanks for any input Thumper

I am still using the strap that came with my Zendrum.  I guess I will have to get with the program and find me a statement strap that I can be proud of.Thumper

Thanks Pyrate for your insight. I am getting closer to pulling the plug. whoops I guess that is the one phrase I should not have use to a a fellow ship owner. ;) Anyway since you are going down  sorry "whoops not another one" this path before me I may lean on you for some advice in the near future. That is one thing great about the tribe is all the help you can get if you ask. Thumper

Count me in it was a great time last year. Seeing what each other is doing was fascinating. It seemed like no one had the same setup whether it was trigger setup, modules,or software. If you can make it to this one you could learn a lot and get to meet some great players.Thumper

ZenChat / Computer upgrade question

I am thinking about upgrading to a Macbook Pro laptop. If I get one with 8 gigs of Ram and a 256 solid state drive would a i7 duo core or woud a i7 quad core processor be a better option. the Quad I think is 2.0 hzt? and the duo has a 2.7 hzt processor.  Does it matter which one with the solid state drive? They also have a new Thunderport which I understand to be 20 times faster than usb 2.0. I was thinking about waiting for the hardrive companies to come out with a compatible  harddrive. What do you all think? Thumper  ps I will be running BFD2 to start and then maybe Superior 2

You will really like the Mac once you get used to it. I have been a mac user since day one and its a lot easier to use. One thing you will find out is if you do not use a mouse and use the trackpad you can still rt click by holding down the ctrl button when you click then another window will open. Some of the music software will use this to open menu's. Hope this helps a little. Thumper

I am glad. We really are on the cutting edge of what the Zendrum can do with all these options out there. Like I said before, if you can imagine it it can really happen. I am glad that Inspector 109 many years ago had an idea that it may have taken a long time to come to pass, is here now and really moving fast! Thumper
