Tech Help / Re: Battery advice
« on: March 12, 2012, 12:51:43 PM »
The 9V IPOWER lithium batteries now come with 520 mH which will last even longer and I do believe that you need to use the charger that they supply. I bought the 4   9V batteries and charger from IPOWER and always feel confident that I will get thru the gig. I ALWAYS  bring a wired backup just in case Thumper

Keep in mind that with your Zendrum using the older chip it changes kits pretty much instantly.Ex you can change from any number and go to a different one and there you are  If you should upgrade to the new Z4 it becomes a different 2 step process to change kits where you have to go to your patch then change numbers then you have to go back to the patch setting to save. It takes a little longer to do but between songs it is really not that difficult. If you change patches during the song you may have a little problem getting that done quickly. Thumper

Depends Pyrate probably a month  not sure if I will drive or fly. I would like to talk Zendrum shop with all that show. We need to find out what others are doing on the front lines and compare notes. Thumper  PS did you see the new TD-30? I am really trying to go the software route with Superior and Ableton but until I can get it flawless I am stil gigging with my TD-20. Soon I will have the setup that I want. Inspector 109 can Ableton be installed in the Zendrum drive? It would be cool if we could hook up an IPAD to the Zendrum Drive and controll faders ,setups and stuff. Thumper

I can do it with enough notice. I have not really spent any time in Nashville before except flying into the airport one time. Kim are you up for it? Thumper

I might be ready for a road trip by then. It would be good to meet with fellow Zendrummers and talk shop. Thumper

Got to love hot drunk chicks!!!!!!!  Thumper

I would opt for a new Zendrum. The experience dealing with the Inspector 109, selecting the wood and finish YOU want makes owning a new Zendrum a great pleasure and you will appreciate the level of care that is unsurpassed anywhere. My humble opinion Thumper

I think I will spend a little time today thinking of the short time that I knew the Mayor Tom Roady. Its raining here in Texas and it looks like it will be a good day to setup my Zendrum and play awhile. Thumper

I kind of have the same problem. I found that when I take the headphone out of the computer it seems like there is not enough signal without a Preamp. I think the solution would be a Motu Ultralite but, I do not want to go buy that without first seeing if someone in the tribe is using it successfully. Any input would be appreciated Thumper

It saddens me that Tom is no longer with us. He touched so many people in a positive way. We have lost a good friend in the Zendrum world. I know that I will not ever forget his love for Zendrum, music, life. I will try to use that more in my every day life. Thumper

Pocketmaster what is the midi interface that you and Dr Shark have? Thumper

I have been using a Motu Fastlane midi to USB interface and do not notice a latency. All computers will have some lag but you can get it to a managable level thru settings and your hardware. Like Pocketmaster said sometime the farther you get from the speakers you will hear a definate lag. I try and stay 10-15 feet in front of mine. Thumper
