I really love my BOSE model II with either the B2 sub or 2 B1's and a T1 mixer. Unfortunately it does cost more than a Zendrum but I highly recommend it. You should also check out the QSC K12 or smaller K10. These by themselves are awesome with the bass boost or they can be combined with a K SUB for bigger venues. This is one Zendrumers opinion. Ask Pocketmaster and DR Shark how they likes them! Thumper

Thank you Darin. I have greatly missed this forum as we are all family here and members of the Tribe and it is a wealth of information for us Zendrummers. Thumper

ZenChat / Geo needs some Zendrum love
« on: September 24, 2012, 09:29:08 am »
I just read on Facebook that Geo " Paul DeStafano" was in a serious bicycle accident where his front tire got stuck in something and he flew off and landed on his face and is really in bad shape. He is looking forward to reconstructive  surgery  and a long recovery period. If you can please say a prayer for a speedy recovery. I for one is already doing that! I know everyone here in the Zendrum tribe wishes that he has a speedy recovery.  I talked with Inspector 109  and he said everyone at Zendrum Headquarters is wishing him well. If you are on Facebook send him a note.  Thumper

I have a SPD-20 but haven't touched it in a while. I might be able to help a little. They should be similar. Thumper

Thanks John.  I am curious about this unit as well as the  Ketron SD2. The sound examples sound promising. Keep us posted Thumper

Tech Help / Re: Power consumption
« on: July 18, 2012, 10:37:44 pm »
I have used the Ipower rechargable 9v on a four hour gig and then the next day for a 2-3 hour practice and not run out of power. I DO turn my Zendrum Z4 OFF during the brreaks and at the end of the gig so it is not on constantly. I always bring a couple extra batteries with me as a spare and also my mergebox so I could play wired if need be. Always plan that something will go haywire and you may never need the extra Items. I want to thank ravenz for the time and effort to forward our Zendrum cause. This a well thought out plan and a great read on his progress. One day it will be simple to do whatever we can imagine but at least we are still moving forward in our never ending search for the perfect setup. Zendrummers keep posting your experiments and reviews on new equipment, software,IOS, as I read this forum faithfully and get my own ideas on how to move forward. Thumper

Tech Help / Re: EZ Drummer HiHat control
« on: May 10, 2012, 08:38:36 am »
Rob I remember a conversation on here about BFD and HH  and John Emrich had said that there was a box in preferences called variable high hat that had to be checked. Maybe EZ drummer has that in preferences also? Just a thought Thumper

Like John said this is a great community! I have learned a lot from this forum and pressed hard to find a solution to this spam problem. Thank you David for keeping this for us Zendrummers and it is a wealth of information for all of us. So what is going on with your Zendrum setup at this point in time?
right now I still gig with my TD-20. I have Superior, BFD, Battery 3, Ableton that I am trying to get so that I feel comfortable taking it out. I need more practice with it and have not really set up a rack for it. What are you using as far as Audio interfaces and midi interfaces to get the sound out of the computer.  David has brought us the Zendrumdrive  which is one way to do this. I have a macbook pro and have been waiting for MOTU to come out with a Thunderbolt interface which I believe that they are working on. right now I am just going out my headphone port on the computer. Lets hear about your setups Thumper

Geo is there a way to keep the forum open for only those that own and can produce serial numbers and close it for all others. I know that this is asking a lot but there are maybe 100 active posters  that you could confirm and allow posting privileges that way you would only add those that went thru the Inspector . I really like this forum and would like it to stay if at all possible. Thumper

Maybe instead of letting every Tom Dick and Harry join the forum make it a invitation only when you buy a Zendrum allowing only then,  posting capabilities. In other words view only.  Unless you have  a Zendrum you can only view the forum. I really hate to lose this forurm. It has a been a wealth on information to me and others also this forum has a family/tribal feel to it and it would be a shame to loose that connection with other Zendrummers. Maybe Drumwagon can help figure something out. Geo I do appreciate all the hard work that you have taken on with this. Dont give up just yet. There has to be another solution out there. Keep the faith. Thumper

Tech Help / Re: Battery advice

I want to say that my original IPOWER 9V 500 mH lasted for around 3 years when I stared to not trust them. I continued to use 2 of them "only at home" for practice for maybe another 8 months, I hope that this helps Thumper
