Here's another vote for keeping this forum going. I haven't posted in a long time, but this whole ordeal has re-awakened my desire to be an active part of keeping this community alive. Great job, Dave and Geo, for giving The Agents the finger :)

ZenChat / TONAL Zen
« on: October 26, 2010, 11:58:01 am »
Hey everyone,

If there is already a thread specifically dedicated to the use of the Zendrum as a tonal instrument, forgive this stupid post.
But if not...

I'd love to start talking about how you tonal players out there (for the record, I play the Zendrum both as a drum/percussion instrument AND as tonal) go about laying out your sounds, how you organize your patches, what you do for polarity issues with certain plugins (like Absynth, etc)...

Also, has anyone out there devised a tonal notation system of any kind for the Zendrum?

I currently have Zenedit, and I know the possibilities for programming are now endless....maybe that's part of the problem, LOL.

Any ideas appreciated!

Thanks,

Matthew

ZenEdit / Re: ZenEdit: The Z4 Computer Interface
« on: August 28, 2010, 01:44:11 pm »
I purchased my ZenEdit license this morning.  Looking forward to diving in, which I'm about to do as soon as I finish this post.

You may have already addressed these issues, but a few questions/suggestions come to mind based on initial exploration:

1) Is it possible, or are you planning in a future update, to allow mutlitiple windows for copying from one setup to another setup?  It would really ease the process if I could view a saved setup at the same time I'm viewing the current one.  This may already be a feature.  If it is, how can I get to it?

2)  Any plans for a pdf manual that I can download to my computer/Nook/Kindle/etc?  Also, how about registered users being able to download the tutorial video?

3) I also noticed that someone suggested a transpose-function.  Is that still on the books?

Thanks again for a great program!

Ah! Never mind:

You simply go into the EDIT menu and UNLOCK the trigger locations.  That was easy!
Great program, man.

ZenEdit / Adding extra triggers in ZenEdit?
« on: August 27, 2010, 10:11:03 am »
Hey there,

Great program! I've got the demo running now and will most likely be purchasing it before the trial is up.  YES!

I've got a Z4 with 6 additional triggers, and I'm wondering how to add these in ZenEdit, in order to get a graphical representation of my Zen.
Is it possible?

Thanks again!

Hey everybody --

It's Matthew Antolick - I play Zendrum full time at Disney's EPCOT Center Moroccan Pavillion with Morockin'.  I've probably met a lot of you there!
Anyhow, this is exciting!

I've been laying my zendrum flat and/or wearing it while sitting down programming for a while, when working with my other projects The OaKs or the Future Funk Collective, and it's going to be great to have an MPC-type interface with the control and sensitivity of a Zendrum.

I'm thinking of the possibilities of having two! (one for each hand) -- (yeah!)

The Zen already works fantastic with my setup - Apple Powerbook G4, Logic Studio, Ableton Live 6 and Native Instruments Battery 3.
Any other Battery users out there?  Isn't it fun??

Way to go DAVE!
