There is the Korg Nanopad 2,if you want to do basic / single shot / DJ triggering with a USB interface but it is a million miles away from the response of a Zendrum.

Hi John,
One other quick question.
With the availability of SSD Drives now is having your OS and BFD3 Samples on the same drive now a workable solution? Rather than needing a seperate External drive for the samples?

Considering adding a new SSD Harddrive to my Macbook Pro.

Cheers

Hi John,
saw some of the previews of BFD3, it looks fantastic.
Was just wondering if you would know the maximum number of slots/channels for Drums that can be opened for a drumset. Thinking on ideas for say an expanded Zendrum 27-28 pads?

Cheers

That is a wonderful post Mustang.  What a super legacy?  Glad to see it is going to be residing in Ireland too.

Thanks Dave,
we're definitely going to have to meet up soon and compare notes  8)

is winging it's way to me  :)
Previously owned by our dear friend Tom Roady ("The Mayor") it has returned to Zendrum Central to be Z4'd. Many happy memories and looking forward to playing it.

Never see it as "either or" it's all fun.

Just picked up an old Yamaha DTX 2.0 module, lot of interesting new sounds I can use compared to the unreliable DM Pro I used previously (thats going for its 3rd factory reset, keeping that at home)

It's all drums  8)

I have pretty much the same list, plus a power circuit breaker at the plug end of the chain

Quiet at the moment, though I do have a Zendrum LT on it's way (just finished paying for it, now to get it Z4'd and across the pond to Ireland)

It's a beauty.

Probably go with DFH Superior / Mac Mini (with Foot pedals) for the LT.

For the ZX a Yamaha DTX700 for live gigs is on the cards too. Would like to get that Z4'd so need to look into who best to ship it with.

ZenEdit / Re: ZenEdit: The Z4 Computer Interface

I know its more of a problem with the module but does ZenEdit work ok with the 2box module  for Zendrum?

Biggest issue with that particular module is their implementation of the hihat (for a standing ZX player), I'm sure it'll be better for Zendrum LT and ZAP players with a Hihat pedal (CC input controller?). Just wondering if anyone has experience on this module

New sound module from Mario at Alternate Mode, may be worth a look, possibly more for Melodic players?
I assume you'd need something like a Behringer BCF2000 for the CC MIDI adjustments for Volume etc?

Here is the 'after' picture. It is in transit. Can't wait until next week when it arrives!

Looks fab, need to get my finger out and send my Zendrum back to be Z4'd and get the extra pads.

Hi David,
hope you are keeping well. The new Yamaha DTX700 Module may be an option for you if you are trying to keep your rig compact. Only 64mB of sampling though, or there is the DTX900 module but that is nearly the same size as a laptop. 512mB Sampling capacity.

I will have mine with me at the Yamaha booth.  That is in the Marriott hotel.

John

Hi John,
hope you are having a fun time.

If you have a chance could you plug your Zendrum into a Yamaha DTX700 module and let me know how you get on. Very impressed with it in a Dublin store. Is there a MIDI note map for the DTX700?

ie can you program sounds onto any MIDI note per setup or are you  restricted to just the "Pad" MIDI notes, 16 or so triggers per drumset? Looks to be a nice small format module with 64mB of Sampling on a USB Stick.

Other options may be DM10 or 2box (but it is restricted to I think 16 sounds per drumset)

Cheers
