I don't have a Zendrum, but... / Won't be long now!

Hello everyone,
I too will soon be joining the tribe.  I placed my order last week and have an LT in Vintage Sunburst just out of the paint booth.  The Zendrum color is not the only thing that is Vintage.  At 54, I am preparing for retirement in a few years and I have returned to the world of drumming simply for the fun of it (I was a percussion major way back in the 70's.) Last year I rebuilt a large Ludwig vintage set of acoustic drums and began playing again.  This year my goal is to make the same progress on the electronic side.  This is all quite new to me, but I am sure to find the help I need along the way in this forum.  I am reading everything I can get my hands on to prepare for this journey.

I have decided that I will be going the software route. My job allows me the use of various laptop and desktop Macs so I will start by experimenting with GarageBand and then various other percussion sound expansion packs. From reading all the posts there are certainly many favorites to choose from.  From there, I think I will continue to grow to studio programs such as Ableton Suite for complete experimentation and recording.  I am currently looking into sound monitors for home studio use with the computer.  Suggestions (about anything) are welcome...

I would like to experiment with various percussion sounds and create sound loops to play in combination with my acoustic drums.  I like what Lars is thinking with the pedals too.  I will first learn to play the Zendrum with the regular drum module sounds, but later desire to go as far as my imagination will allow.  It is good to see so many good people have gone before me and are willing to share their experiences.  I look forward to communicating with all of you.

With the rhythm of life,  Lucky
