ZenChat / 1 year ago today !
« on: August 28, 2014, 05:15:12 AM »
It was a year ago today that my Saphire ZX arrived. After more than 40 years of kit playing, this was quite a change for me. After getting through the learning curve ( which was surprisingly quick ) I felt quite comfortable with my new instrument. Having a blast with my Classic Rock Band and finding a new avenue backing up Duo and Solo acts, I am  thrilled with my decision to go Zen and ZendrumDrive.
I want to thank the Inspector for his quick response and service over the past year and look forward to good things to come.

ZenChat / Happy Holidays 🎅
« on: December 26, 2013, 12:01:26 PM »
Happy Indeed ! Santa delivered my new Zendrumdrive on Christmas Eve. Although I haven't had much time to give it a critique - at least on the surface - this thing is awesome. Super easy to set up my 1st note map - sounds are incredibly realistic - and without a doubt, this thing is built like a tank. I will post a general review when I have spent enough time with it to be able to share some first hand info.
Hope all in the Zendrum Community have a safe - healthy and prosperous New Year.

User Reviews / I-Connectivity Midi to USB
« on: September 22, 2013, 05:01:21 AM »
I recently purchased an M-Audio UNO Midi to USB cable to access Zen Edit and had some problems with it. I know many of you use this - but my problems went unresolved. It was extremely frustrating.
I purchased the iConnectivity Mio and it worked perfectly right out of the box. This is a plug & play unit - no drivers and certainly made for the midi challenged like myself. Cost was about the same as the UNO.
Just another option to consider.

ZenChat / Lovin' It
« on: September 07, 2013, 04:53:01 AM »
I have had my new ZX for two weeks and things are going great.
The scary part is that this old school - tech challenged - musician is making the transition much quicker than I could have imagined.
One of my many reasons for going Zendrum was because of an arm injury about 6 months ago. Knowing I would have some limitations with movement and lifting this was the obvious choice if I wanted to continue playing.
Got back with my band members this week to re-group and audition a new member. They were pretty impressed with the sound and even my playing !
Today we take Zenedit for a spin.  ;D

;D Looks like my ZX will arrive tomorrow. That is very cool. I will be leaving tomorrow night for several days of R&R in Maine.
Guess I better call in sick (Zendrum Fever) tomorrow morning so I can be here to sign for it .
Looks like I will have some time to get acquainted with my new instrument.

I don't have a Zendrum, but... / Two Weeks and counting
« on: August 01, 2013, 06:01:40 AM »
Two weeks ago today I ordered my ZX. A few more weeks and I'll be a ZenDrummer  :D. I have been really busy so these past couple of weeks have just flown by.
I can feel the excitement starting to build so I'm sure these next couple of weeks will be killer.
Hmmmm - I should start thinking about my forum signature  8)

I don't have a Zendrum, but... / Today's the day !
« on: July 18, 2013, 08:47:01 AM »
I plan to place my order today. I've done my homework - purchased a module, practice amp and even some new headphones.
I have had some communications with "The Inspector" and feel comfortable with the product, support and my transition after 40 years of kit playing. I am really looking forward to this new musical adventure.

I don't have a Zendrum, but... / But...... I hope to soon 😎
« on: June 08, 2013, 05:14:14 PM »
Been doing my home work reading manuals. Decided on a Alesis DM 5 because of its simplicity and my lack of knowledge. Bought one on eBay and when it arrived, it didn'work. Just a loud hum with some samples in the distance. Looking for another one. My reading has increased my confidence level. Being old school acoustic - all this technology is pretty intimidating. I have also decided on the Z4 - ZX. Dave has been really helpful with his good guidance. Trying to decide on finish.
Any thoughts ? I really like the Saphire Blue Flame. Not sure that I could justify the exta cost. In any case, I will be. Zendrummer soon. 😀

I don't have a Zendrum, but... / Right out of the box ?
« on: May 26, 2013, 05:52:10 PM »
Is the Zendrum pre programmed and can be played right out of the box prior to custom programming when I figure it all out ?
What (if any) other connection device will i need to plug it into my PA System and make some noise when it arrives ?
Thanks for any info you can give me.
