ZenChat / Zendrum all over again
« on: April 10, 2012, 08:17:10 pm »
Hey everyone,
Working on a new Marimba and Skiddaw Stones composition tonight with my LT and wanted to drop in and say hello. Tonight was unique because I mapped out a Zendrum template to control and launch new recordable MIDI Clips in Ableton Live with 2 of the Zendrum pads on the LT. I recorded 8 sequential MIDI Clips in a row on a single track against a single melody on an adjacent track without stopping. I'm using the lower right group of pads for triggering and Mapping and the rest for playing notes.
Everyone on the forum should post a pic or a song to let everyone know what they are up too. This forum is to good to go idle.
I have plenty of Zendrum laced tracks & pics so I'll be posting (or David will) on the Zendrum FB page as well.

Zen on!

All the best,
Huston Singletary

Tech Help / Re: Zendrumdrive
« on: May 23, 2011, 09:36:54 am »
omg.....I had the opportunity to play the Zendrumdrive for a long session not to long ago. To me it's all about the extreme layering and quality of the drum sounds along with the speed of pad assignements since it's all inclusive. It was all right there in front of me in a single rack. The samples for each drum were recorded in a state of the art studio which has been home to everybody from Springsteen to The Black Crowes. By far the most articulate drum samples and Kit placement I have played yet on my ZenDrum LT (and I have just about everything when it comes to sample libraries)   ;)

ZenChat / Re: Z4 GUI Wishlist, Now Taking Requests
« on: March 08, 2010, 10:04:18 am »
I'll be preparing a short list this week to post. including the desire for an alpha display for note number entry alongside numeric.

The GUI/editor for the Zen series is going to be tremendous. I'm happy to hear it's in the works.
Cross platform is an obvious must.
Although the integration of USB on the Zen models is not a reality at the moment this GUI design app could very well be a step in the right direction.

Requests and thoughts coming soon from the trenches.

Best,
Huston
